Wonder Woman 1984 (light on screen and often stands for WW84) is a 2020 American superhero film based on the DC comic book character Wonder Woman. This is the sequel to Wonder Woman 2017 and the ninth episode of DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Directed by Patti Jenkins, the film is based on a script she played with Jeff Jones and Dave Callaham, based on a story by Johns & Jenkins. Gal Gadot plays Diana Prince / The Amazing Woman alongside Chris Payne, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen. The story of Diana and her ex-boyfriend Steve Trevor takes place during the Cold War in 1984 and confronts Max Lord and Cheetah.
Discussions about the movie’s sequel began immediately after the first movie was released in June 2017, and the decision to continue that month was confirmed. The main photo shoot began on June 13, 2018 with photography at Warner Bros. Studios in Lewisden, England, Columbia and North Virginia in the US, London and Doxford in the UK, Tenerife and Fuertontura in the Canary Islands and Almería. Andalusia, Spain Production ended on July 22, 2018, after 6 months of shooting, with additional shooting in July 2019.
